Lucia Moniz - The new Lucia Moniz record tentatively entitled "sixty-seven days" (approximately the amount of time it took to record it) has been completed for EMI Records Portugal. It will be released in 2002, stay tuned for more details. Carl Nappa engineered, Matt Girard assisted and Anthony Resta and Nuno Bettencourt shared production duties.

Nashville news - Chad LaMarsh and AJR spent several days in Nashville co-writing some songs with Mike Lawler (Mike has written several top 40 songs as well as a number one - info on Mike Lawler.)
Chad heads back into the studio this month to work on songs for a full length album to be released in the spring. His EP "It's about time" has been charting on several southern New Hampshire radio stations in the top 20!

Julie Marie - Julie Marie is a very accomplished singer/songwriter and we really enjoyed working with her. Julie was in to record two versions of a soon to be released single. It came out really really great and there will be a bunch more news on it next time, so stay tuned.

Alex McDougal - Alex has been in recording a single with AJR and Karyadi. It's a really cool pop/rock song with a great message. Alex played the drums and acoustic gtrs on it. We are mixing it later this month. Alex will be completing an EP in the next couple of months, more info on that next time.

The coalboilers - The incredible songwriting team of Charley Carozzo and Gary Bachstrom are in to record some new songs this month. This is their first visit to the studio and we are really honored to have them working here!

Gods Little Joke have been back in the studio working on a full length album. We are all really excited about the songs and are having a great time recording together... There is already an indie deal on the table and hopefully this next batch of songs will bring some majors to the party. http://www.godslittlejoke.com/ for more info...

New Gear - Audix SCX-25 mics (prepare to be blown away)
Thanks to Cliff Castle at Audix for letting us try these guys out. We definitely will be purchasing a pair!

Overview

The SCX-25 is a condenser microphone with an elegant design and a revolutionary capsule suspension system. Uniquely shock mounted within an intricate machined brass ring, the SCX-25 capsule is completely isolated from the mic body and the electronics. By successfully minimizing acoustic reflections and diffractions, SCX-25 delivers a pure, open-air sound unlike any other microphone, regardless of size or cost.
Delivering a smooth uniform cardioid frequency response from 20 - 20k, the SCX-25 will reproduce vocals and acoustic instruments with exceptional detail and realism. The SCX-25 is very consistent when responding to incoming off-axis signals, exhibiting excellent phase coherence and minimal proximity effect.
