February 2007

The Fools - Currently the legendary band "The Fools" are working on a full length record for the month of February. www.myspace.com /foolsband will have samples and updates. The band sold over a million records in the 80’s and this new full length will have something for the old fans and something for new fans. Great Musicianship, Great Songs, and a sprit of Pure Fun and Love of Rock and Roll!!! Thanks to Leo and Rich and the guys for returning to the sci fi mambo lab.

Collective Soul - Anthony J. Resta and Ed Roland are co-producing the band's 7th studio album. The band were here in November, and December tracking basics.  We all had a blast. Thanks to Ed and Dean and Ryan and Joel and Will for coming back.... The record will be in production both here and Atlanta until May or June by my guestimate.

Andrea Surova - Andrea's full length "Welcome to My Thoughts" is more than halfway completed and should wrap before summer. Andrea is an amazingly talented artist/songwriter often compared to greats like Carly Simon and Carole King. Her lyrics take you on a emotional journey.  One of her cuts "I shouldn't want you" is in the hands of Steven Tyler. (so we've been told). It's an adventurous Pop Rock record featuring the famed "flying bricks studio orchestra" (thanks to peter Collins for the bricks concept).

Annette Farrington -  Annette has just completed two  incredible tracks. These are a vanguard for her evolving and breathtaking music.  Go to Annette's myspace or annettefarrington.com to check it out.  It's much more organic but every bit as powerfull as her critically acclaimed  "Azure  Wonder and Lust" (just Google the title for the reviews).

Perry Ferrell's Satellite Party - AJR has been working on 6 songs for the new Sony release due in Late April.  Features a 30 piece orchestra and a guest appearance poetry reading never heard before by the late Jim Morrison of the Doors. Steve Lilywhite and Nuno Bettencourt are the main producers. Lots of cool musical guests like Flea and a ton of others too numerous to mention.  Anthony contributed beats, synths, percussion and circuit bent sonic mayhem. We are hoping for an additional production and engineering credit as well, but who knows in this crazy biz I call no biz like slow biz.

Paul Ortellano and Psycho Serious - Are also working on a full-length record of very intelligent cool rock music.  Think Kings X, Elliot smith, Foo fighters and beyond. Paul is a producer of both audio, video and film and we are learning from him all the time.  What a guitar player! Reminds me of Nuno sometimes.

Taken From Earth - Is a collaboration with Dave Caira and Anthony J. Resta and others. A true concept album in the tradition of Pink Floyd's "The Wall". Influences like Floyd, Zep, Tom Waits and Frank Zappa abound.  This is a true musical journey.  You will laugh you will cry! Go Dave!  This music is freaking people out.

Danielle Ashley - 17-year-old songwriting prodigy Danielle. Prodigy says it all. Check her out at iTunes.  She's causing quite a stir in the industry already. Humble and beautiful and rare.  I don't think the industry will change her.  She's just that kind of person.

"I" - wearei.com. This is one of the coolest hard rock bands around. Classic and innovative.  Frightening musicianship.  Great guys. Check them out now! Thanks to Diana White and The Band for coming back to do this project with us.

Brandon Williams - Country artist with all the goods to compete with Keith Urban.... We are sure you will be hearing about him. 4 song EP completed... Look for him on myspace!  AJR and Brandon co-wrote the lead-off track "Highway to yesterday".

Starrfaithfull - Jodee, and Geoff and AJ were back again with more of their energetic bluesy and cool power trio style rock. It's better every time we work together!  "Do what you want" was co-written with AJR and sounds very modern and unique like all their music.

Didi Stewart - Vocal Professor at Berklee, Didi can sing any style. She is known for her work with Didi and the Amplifiers and Girls Night Out all the way to Latin jazz. Well, her new record "Harmonyville" explores modern country rock. Way cool and competitive stuff. An amazing writer as well. Check it out on line, ok!!!!

Chicki - Space age new wave from the future. Crazy and cool like Missing Persons meets The Outcast. Wild and fun music! Full-length album in the works recorded both at bopnique and at John Ellis's Prism Sound.  Thanks to Producer Marcus R. (did tons with New Kids On The Block) for bringing the project here.

Elizabeth Tryon - Elizabeth Tryon is a renowned soprano from Manhattan; she has toured performing arias etc. This record is a hybrid classical pop record that features lush intricate orchestral arrangements and her amazing singing.  Check her out at iTunes too!!!! Thanks to Jeff Gizmo Calder for all the help on the orchestration. Very detailed work. Up to 200 tracks. Insane! Beautiful.

Ultra Violet - Formerly Common Thrill, quite a buzz band.  Just google "Common Thrill" and tons comes up. They just changed their name and are about to be signed.  Very cool hip modern music. Singer JC sounds like the bastard son of Jeff Buckley and Jim Morrison.

Bionic - Speaking of being signed, Bionic just did their full-length record at Longview Farm with Producer Toby Wright. Good luck to them! We recorded early demos that helped get the ball rolling. Sort of Meat and Potatoes Hard Rock, ala Creed, Godsmack, Nickelback. I bet they do really well!

Leaving Eden - Just wrote and recorded a hit. It's called "I'm a pothead" and you will be hearing it and seeing the video.  Tons going on already with this song. Fun, fun, fun!
