August 2001A bit later than it was supposed to, due to an e-mail mishap, here's the latest news!June July session news and updates - This is our first complete studio news letter since May, so there's a lot of new updates. Also we have an unexpected 10 day opening in August from the 7th to the 17th available (due to Lucia tour dates in Europe). We will be happy to answer each and every inquiry into studio bookings for that period. Please write back and say hello, and have a great summer!

Lucia Moniz - a fantastic singer/songwriter from Lisbon, Portugal, is in to record her sophomore release for EMI. The songs are a bit heavier than her debut (which went gold last year) but it's full of great melodies and her signature jazz/pop vocal arranging. Nuno Bettencourt and Anthony J. are producing, Carl Nappa is engineering. Donovan Bettencourt and Joey Pessia and Nuno are contributing bass, guitars and some songwriting with Lucia. AJR is contributing beats, synths and turntables.
Chad Lamarsh - Chad just completed a really cool EP called Buzz; it's 6 cuts done here + a bonus live track. The songs "Say Goodbye" and "Reason to Breathe" are getting a lot of airplay at WHOB and they have had great response on the phones. Everyone is saying the record sounds like a major label release and we are all really proud of it! Thanks to Chad, Steve Sadler, Jeff Consi, Donovan Bettencourt, Jake Shpiro, Stu Sinclair and Rob Gonzalez for all their musical contributions. The record was recorded and mixed by Karyadi Sutedja. Produced by AJR (assisted by Matt Girard). Bob St.John mixed "Say Goodbye" at his pdq studio in Miami and mastered the record as well. Thanks Bob! Clifford Stoltz at Stoltz Design is doing the artwork and Melissa Mahoney is doing the photography so it's going to look as cool as it sounds. Chad writes music that appeals to a large demographic and the buzz is already starting... He works 7 days a week to make this stuff happen and good things are ahead for him. Jim Beam has already climbed aboard to help make this thing fly...There will definitely be more news in the upcoming months so stay tuned...
