poetry

april and all away for good one day

locusts in my Texas past
scream louder
than unfinished homework.
the scorching sun,
just another marble in my pocket,
burnt my fingers into overdue book reports.

slingshot centerfold catfish banana seat
tenspeed talent show yo-yo trick me to the moon just
to impress young skinny girls.

a kite somewhere sings from its
triangular head "here's to you Mrs. Robinson, heaven
holds a place for those
who forget to pray'

granite and pain wait patiently,
but even they will be all away for good one day.
