Evie Sanidas
backing vocalist for The Devils

(TDGD 59, April 2003)

I first met Nick and Stephen in May 2001 through Sally Boyden. Nick asked Sally if she new of another singer they could use for recording the Devils album. Two days later Sally and I started to record backing vocals for The Devils album Dark Circles. Nick and Stephen knew what they wanted from our vocals. So we were learning as we recorded. It didn't take long at all, in a few hours it was done. It was great fun. My favourite song has to be 'Come Alive' - it's very sexy!

Performing in Cologne was wonderful. I feel honoured to have worked with Nick, Stephen and Sally. Life can be full of wonderful surprises! We were very well looked after.

My favourite Duran song has to be the one that goes, are you ready?  'Please Please tell me now is there something I should know...'

At present I'm working on my own project with a long time friend of mine Patrick Monroe. I hadn't seen Patrick for a couple of years until the first Devils gig at Harvey Nichols in November 2002. I spotted a familiar face in the crowd and shortly after the show we made contact again. Nick actually encouraged me to to work with Patrick. So, the Nick Rhodes connection continues...

My best wishes Evie XxX

p.s We had three days of rehearsals in London. Two of those were without Nick. Sally and I have worked together before; we are good friends so working together doesn't feel like 'work'. Music has to be fun and without fun there is no music!!!
